And no, I am not being sarcastic here. Really, really.
Alan Ryves, the amazing character that was born from the geniuses mind of one Sarah Rees Brennan, is one of my favourite book character. He is such a perfect gentleman. He is polite to elderly, children likes him, he loves to help people in need. He is what you would call the perfect man to bring home.
But, not only he has those amazing quality, he is also uncunningly smart, a loyal brother, and a great tactician.
His smart brain help his brother, the ever gorgeous and sexy, Nick Ryves through high and low of lifes. Loyal, Alan is, as the great Yoda would probably said. He never wavered from his loyalty to his ‘baby’ brother albeit everything that hapenned and might be happen in the future.
Maybe he is not the hero with the sword and fight to help the damsel in the distress on the series, but he is certainly a hero in an unique kind of way. He is the tactician behind any stunt the brothers pull together against their ‘enemies’.
But, the quality that I really adore from Alan Ryves is he is really the perfect role model of World Peace.
When in the real world, people choose to passionately hate Justin Bieber as equally as they hate wars. Or, maybe loathe Rebecca Black as the same level as they loathe injustice, the character of Alan Ryves is like a fresh air for me.
He is the epitome of ‘do not judge the book by its cover’. When people could hate someone without knowing the person they hate, Alan is none of that. He loves Nick, his brother, in spite of his brother in-human-ness.
Yeah, Nick Ryves is not a human. He is a demon. Full-fledged demon. Yet, Alan still find a way out for his brother for any trouble that he maybe will find someday. He doesn’t hate Nick because he is a demon and a demon supposed to be hate. He finds the good quality that Nick has and teaches him what he knows.
Alan Ryves is the World Peace Ambassador for me.
